Cerberi Revenge 1.2 Patch in the Works…for Real

Development of the 1.2 patch for Cerberi Revenge has been in process for quite sometime now and I am pleased to announce that it is truly being worked on.

For the past few months I have been busy with military life and have not had the time to sit down and put some work in to it and now most of the major holes (with the exception of two exasperating bugs) has been completed.

I’m hopefully looking to a Late February release.

So, with out further adieu…back to work I go.

Return from the Unknown

It’s been a long time and probably people have forgotten, but against all possible odds, I’ve returned! (Okay, melodramatic) It’s been a long time, almost half a year since I’ve been able to post any news about the Hidden Enemies or Cerberi Revenge mods that have been in the making, but that is all going to change.

As of today, I am officially back in action and though I may not post new stuff on the forums any time soon, today marks the day that I begin booting up BZ2 and actively start working on the mods.

So, the plan is as follows:

HIDDEN ENEMIES

Hidden Enemies is being re-structured, not in the storyline value or anything that has been created, but the way that the inside the pak file have been made are a little….confusing, not to mention that none of the races have been consolidated yet (I left the UEA in a nightmarish mess which Nielk1 has wisely not tried to attack.

I will fight that hidious monster myself and get back in to action. I don’t want this mod to be the mod that no one ever plays.

CERBERI REVENGE

I promised to release a 1.2 patch of this mod to fix the holes and I will carry that out. The reason it didn’t appear as soon as I wanted and said originally was because I began to add more in to it that I thought would make it better, some of the other modders jumped in to help and really made it look great…but that created more work and things to make it run.

So, that will probably be my first priority to release, to get that mod out and completed for everybody to enjoy.

In ending this letter to the public, I hope that this finds the BZ1 and BZ2 community healthy and growing with ideas and new mods for me to try while I’ve been gone! Hope to see you around the zone.

1.0.2 — Aalllllmoooossssttttt Done.

It’s time for me to give you all great people an update on the 1.0.2 patch for the Cerberi Revenge. It’s almost done. I’ve finally stopped adding things to it and thanks to the Beta testing team we should get the patch out as soon as possible.

Sorry for all the delay, but I wanted to make sure that this absolutely solved the problem of 1.0.

Just a small post to let you know that I’m still around.

1.0.2 *still* in Development

People tell me that there is always a good side to everything that goes wrong. With the 1.0.2 patch really giving me trouble, I guess the good thing is that I learned how quickly I can damage something. Okay, that’s a bad funny-haha.

Thanks to Mission#2 still giving trouble and the last attempt really caused trouble so I’m thinking of totally re-designing it’ll be a little different, but not to much (except you’ll be able to beat it.)

I want to publicly thank GeneralManson for all his excellent work he has done in tracking down the crashes in Mission#2 and giving the rest a good working over. Without his myriad of PMs, screen shots, comments, and suggestions, I honestly think I would have thrown this mission in the trash a LONG time ago.

Hopefully I will be able to get the next version of the patch to all the testers and maybe I’ll be able to release the patch openly to fix the major problems that everybody has been having.

For one things to all those other modders, make sure things are working *before* you release it. :)

Private Beta Testing of Patch 1.0.2

Bad glitches and mess-ups is a modder’s worse nightmare and it has proven true when Cerberi Revenge went through Beta testing, did not find any bugs and then crashed magnificently in the second mission due to a scavenger glitch.

Well, after releasing the mod and promising to release a patch for everybody to fix this, I’ve finally able to announce that I’ve got a patch in Beta testing which will see privately if this will fix the problem before I release it to the public.

This’ll fix the major Scavengers not deploying in Mission#2 and the massive attacking armada in Mission#3. There are also some small visual things and storyline wise that I’ve added to help out.

I’ll announce when it’s available to the public.

Sick is Miserable

Being sick is not only miserable, but it really makes it difficult to get things done. Big time! For the last two weeks I’ve been sick on and off and last weekend I really came down bad. Something to do with allergies I never knew I had and sinuses going nuts cause of it.

Suffice to say, I haven’t done anything worth while on either mod, but I did get some things done on the BZmag. It’ll be coming out this week.

Forgive the short post, but I’m busy at work and I wanted to let you all know what is going on.

Second AIP revisions Are in!

Thanks to Wug’s hard work and dedication, the second revision of HE AIPs are now in my posession and being added to the 0.5 release (of course after he and I work out the blatant bugs).

Things are going well with the voiceovers coming in and with finalizing everything for the Mantis. Nielk1 has put a lot of work in to his BZcomplex website and I’m glad to be able to have access to all these tools.

Available are two mantis. If you are a member of Hidden enemies development team you’ll be able to see the mantis for the development of HE. If not, the only one you’ll be able to see is Cerberi Revenge.

Cerberi Revenge has been a little hard for me to work with lately because the original Cerberi ODFs are simply hacks to get them to work in 1.3. There wasn’t any intention of making them playable by the player. As many requests have come, I’ve been trying to track down some ODF replacements for the Cerberi. I heard there were some around the web somewhere.

Anyhow, that’s how things are going right now.
